socks, stripes…and serendipity

while sitting at a hair salon, i happened to glance sideways and saw a cool Stüssy cap perched on the station; and so i carried my glance further to see who it belonged to. it belonged to a very chill and stylish guy, who looked like he walked out of an ad in Surfer magazine, and an arbiter of style, at that.

my eyes were riveted downward, to his footwear…how great is this. like a little vignette of righteous self expression…but not at eye level; at FLOOR level.

and, i might add, he was very gracious to let me snap a pic… so that i could show all of you.

stripes man

soak it in.

The Sartorialist…cross pollination

Nick Wooster by The Sartorialist

so if any of you follow this blog the way that I religiously do…

The Sartorialist has a kind of intimate luncheon every year in Milan for all the well dressed men he shoots all throughout the year, in many countries…and then films it for his blog.

a brilliant idea, really – stylish men fly in from around the globe to meet each other, converse and admire each other&#39s sense of style & accomplishments. almost harkens to a bygone era when people could lunch in such a civilized and genteel manner, and linger over drinks and delicious food; not to mention great conversation and haberdashery.

looks like our very own Mr. Nick Wooster got an invite – this post is a sneak preview leading up to the video post. i say &#34very own,&#34 because Nick Wooster is a style consultant at the retail company where i work my 9-5, as they say.

i passed him in the lobby a few weeks ago (lobby being a loose term; because it looks like a mall, but with offices -no shops!…but lush indoor trees and a Starbucks).

and i might coyly say… that The Sartorialist has captured his demeanor entirely accurately…

love that…entrepreneurial spirit

entrepreneur

ran into a Starbucks, like a blogging superhero into a phone booth, ready to fly through some posts – and ran into this guy.

love his entrepreneurial spirit…and the fact that he knew exactly where his captured audience already was.

not to mention his badass jacket.

actually, i should have offered his price for the jacket – not the laptop.

stylin&#39.
